GENERAL INFORMATION

What cookies are and what they are used for

A cookie is a text file that a website visited by the user sends to their device (computer, mobile device such as smartphone or tablet), where it is stored and then transmitted back to that website on a subsequent visit to the same site.

Cookies are distinguished:

  • based on the party that installs them, depending on whether it is the same operator of the visited site (so-called "first-party cookies") or a different party (so-called "third-party cookies");
  • based on the purpose of each cookie: some cookies allow better browsing by storing certain user choices, for example the language (so-called "technical cookies"), other cookies allow monitoring the user's browsing also for the purpose of sending advertising and/or offering services in line with their preferences (so-called "profiling cookies").

Only profiling cookies require the user's prior consent for their use.

The Data Controller is responsible exclusively for the first-party cookies installed on the Site.

In the section "First-party technical cookies" you can view the types of first-party technical cookies released by the Site.

In the event that profiling cookies are released, the preferences expressed by the user regarding the use of cookies and other tracking tools are stored in order to ensure compliance with the choices made and not to show the consent banner at every access to the site.

In this case:

  • the user's choices are recorded via technical cookies and/or local storage mechanisms (for example localStorage) installed on the user's device and/or, where provided by the consent management platform (CMP), via server-side storage systems;
  • such information is used solely to document the consent given, denied or withdrawn and is not used for further purposes, nor for profiling activities;
  • consent preferences are stored for a maximum period of 12 months, after which consent will be requested again from the user, unless they change or withdraw it earlier through the features available on the site.

In the event that profiling cookies are released, the user may at any time change or withdraw their choices by accessing the cookie banner settings.
